Karen is the founding partner of A City Law Firm LLP having previously been an Associate in an International Law Firm in the West End.

 

Having obtained her degree in Law, Karen went on to achieve a Master’s Degree in Criminology from the University of Cambridge and her LPC from the College of Law. Her studies where conducted whilst working full-time as a Senior member of management in the public sector.

 

Karen established the firm last year to offer people access to experienced yet approachable legal advisors. Having worked for large target based commercial firms she wanted to offer a place where a person or company could have a relationship with her firm that it trusted, relied upon and who grew with the firm. Karen has a large client following who remain with her because her ethos remains be professional, be honest, be transparent with your clients and resolve matters quickly, but also be dam good at beating your opponents

 

Karen specialises in start-up businesses, employment and litigation. She has worked on  a number of high net worth, complex matters including cross border judgements and claims; commercial disputes; property litigation; claims against other solicitors and a number of discrimination and harassment cases involving sexual orientation, disability and gender.

 

Karen also has a wealth of experience addressing LGBT matters, some of which have been particularly harrowing. As a result she strives to enhance the legal resources available to the gay community and help support members find an equal footing. The firm sponsors a number of organisations and people who drive the community forward and this is specifically driven by Karen who challenges all forms of discrimination, harassment or unfair treatment . She strongly supports educating and helping people understand and develop an awareness in these areas.
